Consumer Green Power

Gary Hirshber, CEO of U.S. organic yogurt producer Stonyfield Farm, says consumers can change the world through their shopping decisions. He says buying an earth-friendly product is like casting a vote for the environment, and the more people do it, the more companies will pay attention and cater to green demand.
We are consumers, and because we consume, we have immense power. We can choose to buy a product because of the material it’s made of. We can choose to buy a product because it’s less toxic. We can choose to buy a product because it’s made in a safe, fair environment. And we can choose not to buy a product at all.
We do have power as consumers, and when enough people choose to wield that power, the marketplace listens. Corporations have to listen or they will die.
I chose to launch Green Girl because I had a burning desire to empower women around the world to start making better decisions when choosing to buy products. To educate and empower women to make better choices when shopping matters to me.
The simple act of a woman bringing her own bags with her when shopping, to SHOP DIFFERENTLY, is a choice that makes a big difference to the environment in the long run. Big changes start with small steps. The Green Girl reversible canvas and reversible lightweight totes, as well as, the Organic and Jute totes are available on my website to purchase. A trip to the grocery store is becoming a lot more fashioable as women consumers look to the designer Green Girl totes to express their style. The Green Girl totes give shoppers an alternative to paper or plastic without sacrificing style.
Women write to me every day thanking me for creating fashionable totes that they can use for both shopping and in everyday situations. I am thrilled that women use the Green Girl totes for daily use and for so many different situations. Thank you to all you women who care about the environment. We are making a difference!
